minute paper 1-22-08

Todays class was interesting with the wide array of interpretations of the topic. I thought that the class progression went from a more steady/no change perspective, to a radical need for change due to certain issues such as global warming, and water shortages/sustainability. And I hate to say it, but I think that this common idea orginates from Al Gores Documentary "An Incovenient Truth." Nonetheless I enjoyed the miracle machines, and robots that people were describing.

Shane, what do you mean by "I hate to say it, but..."? Also, I'm curious as to why you trace those ideas to An Inconvenient Truth. Are you suggesting that the issues you mentioned were not on the radar before that film was released?

i would have to say that being environmentally conscious is something i was proudly raised as. i do not need to rely on popular politicians to believe that conservation and recycling are important...

I used the phrase "i hate to say it," because Al gore is an idiot and one of the biggest bullshitters in politics today. He lost the election, (whether ligit or not)went temporarily insane, and then starts focusing his efforts on this global warming issue, to get his name on the issue. So Al Gore gets a nobel prize for this exaggerated documentary, when Mr. Gore doesn't even belong to the green party who has been discussing the issue since I can remember, and probably many many years before. So for the people that said Ralph Nader was taking votes from Al Gore, I feel that Gore stole the Nobel prize from Nader by trying to play the whole field(bulshitting)and taking other people's credit, such as inventing the internet. So thank you Al for making blogging possible and bringing to light the global warming issue which Ralph Nader has spent his entire life to try to achieve, out of his own pocket.
